It’s hard to beat the taste of a freshly brewed cup of coffee from freshly ground beans rather than pre-ground ones that have been sitting on the grocery store shelf for weeks, losing flavor. Though, grinding them yourself does require a coffee grinder – and taking more effort or cleaning you might not have time for – is it worth it?
Best Single Cup Coffee Maker with built-in grinders eliminates the need for fuss and bother when it comes to coffee because they store whole beans, prepare them on demand, and dispense them right into the brewing chamber.
Over the course of 10 years, we’ve tested over 100 different coffee makers and brewed more than 1,000 cups of coffee. From traditional drip machines to espresso machines, single-serve brewers, and everything in between – we’ve made sure to test out everyone so you don’t have to waste your time on something that doesn’t work for you.

Breville
Breville’s The Grind Control was one of the few coffee makers we tested that had grinders built-in, and it proved to be a top performer. It consistently produced all three grades (fine, medium, coarse) of ground beans just like what you would get from a high-quality standalone grinder!
It has six grind size settings to choose from, making it easy for you to customize your coffee or adjust the setting if you switch beans. The bean hopper can hold up to 1⁄2 lb of beans at once and is made from glass so there’s no risk of plastic leeching into your coffee.
Our favorite feature of this coffee maker is the digital display which can show the number of cups left to brew or the strength. The front-facing digital display also tells you how much water is in the tank, so you no longer have to guess at how much time until your next cup is ready like many other brands. And for all its greatness – it produces one of the most delicious cups of coffee we’ve ever had that was neither too strong nor too weak but instead, just right!
BLACK+DECKER
When comparing each coffee maker, this one from Black and Decker proved to be the quietest. Not only was it quieter than the other brands but it also produced an even coarser grind which made for a richer tasting cup of coffee when combined with water.
It also made one of the tastier cups of coffee in our taste test, with a pleasing smell and sweet flavor. The grinder was placed on top of the filter holder for easy access; making it much easier to keep both parts clean simultaneously.
In order to use this model, you will need to add beans every time you make coffee because there is no hopper to store leftover beans. This means using whole beans or pre-ground coffee and having the option of an on-screen display showing how long it has been since the last brew.
CUISINART
This Cuisinart Grind & Brew Plus provides convenience and customization, eliminating the need for two machines – which might take up too much space on your countertop. One side of the machine is for making coffee from whole beans; you can either grind them yourself or use pre-ground coffee.
You also have an option to adjust the strength of your drink. The other side makes individual servings but does not allow you to make adjustments such as choosing whether or not to grind the beans before brewing a pot of joe.
It only works with pods or reusable filters (which are sold separately). Although it didn’t rank first in our taste test, we found this feature most helpful when we needed just one cup because they’re quick to brew without needing extra preparation time or clean up afterward!
CAPRESSO
This coffee maker delivered one of the better-tasting cups in our test and has been a top performer when it comes to brewing at the right temperature and making sure that you don’t have to wait too long for your drink.
It features a conical burr grinder with five grind settings to suit your preference; however, we found during testing that there wasn’t much of a variance in the coarseness of grinds from one setting to another.
It also has a thermal carafe that you can easily take from the coffee maker to the table while keeping your coffee warm. The hopper can hold 6 ounces of whole beans, and it was easy to change the grind size for some finely ground espresso or some coarser grounds for French press or pour-over brewing.
DELONGHI
This DeLonghi coffee and espresso maker has been hailed by our lab experts as one of the best machines on the market thanks to its ability to make delicious tasting drinks that are always created with care.
From espressos to lattes, this machine makes it easy – simply select what you want, tap a button or two, and watch it do all the work for you. It even cleans itself after making your drink! One thing we really liked about this appliance was how high-quality the espresso tasted;
There were an especially creamy texture thanks to its crema. Plus, when we used some fresh milk from the hopper (which froths on its own!), we didn’t have to do anything ourselves – that felt so good!
Conclusion
Customization and convenience: Beyond grind size adjustments, Best Single Cup Coffee Maker With Grinder may also have customization features such as the type of drink – ranging from latte to espresso. More advanced models come pre-programmed so they brew whatever type of drink the user wishes without requiring manual tamping or frothing; this comes at a higher cost though! Keep in mind what features you need before splurging on conveniences.
